On Sunday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m., the festival will make a stop at La Caleta, in Cádiz, with María Esther Guzmán, one of the most outstanding Spanish guitarists of her generation. Considered a child prodigy from her first public appearances, she has developed a vast international career, marked by virtuosity, sensitivity, and elegance in her interpretation. Her close ties with Japan and her attachment to the great classical and Spanish repertoire are an integral part of a journey deeply rooted in the guitar tradition.

The concert will take place at La Caleta · Espacio Fernando Quiñones, near the emblematic seaside promenade of Cádiz. This place bears the name of Fernando Quiñones, a writer and poet originally from Cádiz, a major figure in the literature and culture of the city. Located facing La Caleta beach, it offers an open setting, closely linked to the Cádiz landscape, thus providing a different dimension from the other heritage sites of the festival.

Near the emblematic La Caleta beach, on Duque de Nájera Avenue, is the Espacio Cultural Fernando Quiñones, housed in the former Bastión del Orejón. This site is part of the historical heritage of Cádiz and belongs to the set of old fortifications that protected the seafront of the city. After rehabilitation work, it reopened its doors in July 2025, thus recovering its cultural vocation.

The work preserved and restored several architectural elements of the site, including its vaulted spaces and inner courtyards, while integrating facilities adapted to new uses. These include two rooms intended for cultural activities and a glass-enclosed rooftop terrace, which offers a view of the surroundings of La Caleta. The venue also hosts an exhibition dedicated to Fernando Quiñones (1930-1998), a writer and poet closely linked to Cádiz, whose work reflects Andalusian identity, traditions, and cultural life.

The combination of heritage, literature, and maritime landscape makes this space a unique place within the Cádiz Guitar Festival. Unlike the palaces, monasteries, and historic patios that make up the program, this site offers a direct connection to the sea and the Cádiz identity, creating a different setting to appreciate classical guitar near one of the most iconic places in the city.
