GRANADA GUITAR FESTIVAL ANTONIO MARÍN 2025 | Granada

As part of the 9th edition of the Granada International Guitar Festival, held from July 19 to 25, 2025 at the San Juan de Dios Museum, guitarist Angélica Rodríguez, winner of the 11th Ángel G. Piñero International Classical Guitar Competition (held in 2024), gave a very special concert together with the prestigious Quartett HANA at the San Juan de Dios Museum – Casa de los Pisa.

Angélica, a young promise of classical guitar, performed a program that included original works by Ángel G. Piñero, as well as pieces by other composers from the contemporary repertoire, accompanied by Quartett HANA, in what was their second concert within the Association’s activities, following the one held in Bonn.

This edition of the Festival paid tribute to the great concert artist Pepe Romero, on the occasion of his 80th birthday; to the master guitar maker José López Bellido, a key figure in the history of the Granada guitar, who passed away in May 2024; and to the composer Joaquín Rodrigo, 25 years after his death.

Teatro del Centro Federico García Lorca

El Teatro del Centro Federico García Lorca, ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, con concha acústica y con una capacidad para 400 personas, se ha convertido en escenario de ciclos como el Festival Internacional de Poesía Ciudad de Granada, el Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada y el Festival de Guitarra, entre otros.

El Teatro pertenece al Centro Federico García Lorca, una institución cultural destinada al estudio y la investigación en torno a la vida y la obra del poeta granadino Federico García Lorca, así como a la difusión de su producción literaria y la conservación de su legado documental.

THE ARTIST

Guitarist: Angélica Rodríguez

Angélica is a young artist born in Encarnación (Paraguay) in 1994, who masters the art of the guitar and lyrical singing. He actively collaborates in the dissemination of Ángel's work and has participated in numerous concerts, performing his works at the Andalusian Festival of San Juan de Luz (France), in Madrid (Club Monteverdi and Carlos de Antwerp Foundation) and at the Théâtre Athénée Louis-Jouvet of Paris.

Trained in Paraguay and Italy, Angélica teaches Classical Guitar at the “Istituto Comprensivo T. Onorato” in Sferracavallo (Palermo).

In 2010 she received the title of Senior Professor of Classical Guitar at the Municipal Art Center of Encarnación, her hometown. In 2012 she obtained the title as Senior Professor in lyrical singing at the Amadeus Conservatory in her city.

In 2015 Angélica moved to Italy to perfect his studies in classical guitar and lyrical singing, graduating with the highest grade (110 e lode) and Honorable Mention in Classical Guitar at the “Guido Cantelli Conservatory” of Novara (Italy), obtaining the Laurea II Level Magistrale under the direction of Maestro Bruno Giufreddi in 2017.

In 2019 she graduated in lyrical singing, thus obtaining the Laura Magistrale II level, under the guidance of Maestro Berardino Di Domenico, at the same conservatory. To complete his training, in 2022/23 he completed the Master of Musical Performance with Maestro Aniello Desiderio at the “Accademia Stefano Strata” in Pisa.

Angélica has obtained prizes in important international competitions among which stand out, among others:

  • First prize in the "Lucas Braulo Areco International Contest" Argentina in 2012.
  • Special prize for best interpretation of the obligatory work in the "Andrés Segovia International Classical Guitar Competition" La Herradura (Spain) in 2013.
  • First prize in the "Concorso Internazionale di Chitarra Classica Rocco Peruggini" Italy in 2017.
  • First prize in the "VII Angel G. Piñero International Guitar Competition" online edition (Spain) in 2021.
  • “Carrer project” prize at the “III Swiss international Music Competition” online edition, Lugano, in 2023.


She has offered recitals at important festivals, among others:
“Stagione Internazionale di Chitarra Classica” in the XI edition, organized by the Atelier Chitarristico Laudense in the city of Lodi, Italy in 2016; “Solo concert” for the commemoration of the national holidays of Paraguay at the National Library of Catalonia. Barcelona, ​​Spain, in 2018; Classical guitar concert "Tribute to Women" at the Embassy of Paraguay in Rome, organized by the same embassy and the Paraguay-Italy Association in 2022.

String quartet: Quartett Hana (Germany)

The Quartett HANA (Gyurim Kwak, Fuga Miwatashi, Simon Rosier, and Tzu-Shao Chao) was founded in April 2019 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. The name “HANA” reflects the cultural backgrounds of its members: it means “flower” in Japanese and “one” in Korean – symbolizing unity and a shared spirit that musically connects the ensemble.

Since 2021, the quartet has been studying with Prof. Raphaël Merlin and the Quatuor Ébène at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Since 2024, they have also been mentored by Prof. Heime Müller at the Lübeck University of Music. Beginning in October 2025, the quartet will continue its studies with Prof. Günter Pichler at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. In addition, the members receive regular artistic guidance from Prof. Eberhard Feltz.

The ensemble has participated in masterclasses with esteemed artists including Prof. Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet), Prof. Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartet), Prof. Oliver Wille, Prof. William Coleman (Kuss Quartet), Prof. Johannes Meissl, and Quatuor Voce.

Quartett HANA is a prizewinner of several international competitions:, 2nd Prize at the Concours de Genève (2023), 3rd Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition (2023), the Special Prize “Förderpreis der Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland” at the ARD International Music Competition (2022), and 3rd Prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition (2020).

The quartet has collaborated with renowned artists such as Itamar Golan, Sarah McElravy, François Kieffer, Margarita Höhenrieder, and Michael Endres. Concert appearances have taken them to venues such as Wigmore hall, Auditorium in Bordeaux, Victoria Hall Geneva, the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus Berlin, Prinzregententheater Munich, Beethoven House Bonn, Polling Monastery Library Hall, the town halls of Tuttlingen and Kaufbeuren, Jahnhalle Geislingen, and Teatro Rosalía de Castro in Spain.

They have also been featured in numerous festivals including the String Quartet Festival of the Heidelberger Frühling, the Mozartfest Würzburg, Festival Groba (Spain), Les Classiques du Prieuré and Festival du Guérinet (France), 2025 Heikendorf Rathauskonzerte and the Soirée at Schloss Burgfarrnbach in Fürth.

Quartett HANA is a Residency Artist at ProQuartet for the period 2025–2027 and was awarded a scholarship by the CRF Foundation of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in 2024. Since 2021, the ensemble has also been supported by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Munich.

Meditación
Compuesta en 2020 en plena campaña del coronavirus, como homenaje al dolor y a las víctimas de la pandemia.

Preludio azul
Dedicada a mi madre, víctima de la voracidad de la Guerra Civil española. Debe estar en el cielo y por eso lleva el nombre de Preludio Azul.

Evocación
Recuerdo de juventud de postguerra con mi hermano y su apoyo para yo fuera músico. En esta obra se refleja entre sus notas, la vida de sacrificios por salir adelante en nuestra juventud.

Murmullo musical
Es un murmullo musical en tono Mayor y menor simulando un chorro continuado de notas.

El viento de la vida
Preludio dedicado a la vida, su empuje y fuerza.

Caprichos
Es una obra espontánea, juguetona, hay un juego entre la melodía y el cromatismo que le da un interés especial

Canto a la serranía

PRENSA

El 11 de noviembre a la 19:00 se organiza a través de la Asociación de guitarra clásica Ángel G. Piñero, un concierto de guitarra sola y guitarra y cuarteto de cuerdas en la sala Manuel de Falla de la SGAE. Es un concierto monográfico de parte de las obras de Piñero, que serán interpretadas por un concertista ucraniano premiado, Stalisnav Stetshenko y el cuarteto Chagall.

El programa incluye las obras Preludio Azul, El viento de la vida, Murmullo musical, Balada a una desconocida, Viaje Nocturno, Alegrías en el puerto, Canto a la serranía y Brisas de Cádiz.
