On June 13th, the Club Monteverdi (Calle Almagro, 36) in Madrid will host a new concert in tribute to the works of Ángel G. Piñero. On this occasion, the Quinteto 1909 will perform a program centered around compositions by the Maestro, as well as works by other composers.
Club Monteverdi, recognized for its commitment to the arts, patronage, and philanthropy, has been the venue for several concerts dedicated to the works of Ángel G. Piñero in recent years. The most recent took place on January 17, 2025, featuring the Turkish guitarist Özberk Miraç Sarigül, winner of the 10th edition of the Ángel G. Piñero International Classical Guitar Competition, accompanied by the Chagall Quartet, a regular ensemble in concerts organized by the Association.
The Quinteto 1909 is a Spanish ensemble that renews chamber music for guitar through a unique instrumentation: three classical guitars, a soprano guitar, and a contrabass guitar. It consists of Hugo González Carrera (guitar 1), Miguel Ángel Casero Jiménez (guitar 2), Miguel Revuelta Cazorla (guitar 3), Víctor Manuel Casero Jiménez (guitar 4), and Óscar López Rogado (contrabass guitar). This configuration allows them to expand the timbral range of the instrument and approach both original repertoire and adaptations from other formations. Since its inception, the quintet has been recognized for its interpretive strength and innovative contribution to the current guitar scene. Their first album, Paradigma, won the Melómano de Oro award in 2024.

LE MUSÉE SÉPHARADE (SINAGOGA DEL TRÁNSITO).
Un musée à l’intérieur d’un momument.
Le musée séfarade est situé à l’intérieur de la synagogue de Samuel ha-Levi ou, comme on l’appelle communément, la synagogue d’El Tránsito, l’édifice hispano-juif le plus important d’Espagne, situé au cœur du quartier juif de Tolède.
L’origine de cet édifice spectaculaire remonte au XIVe siècle, lorsqu’il fut construit sur ordre de Samuel ha-Leví, un personnage important de l’époque, qui occupa plusieurs postes importants à la cour du roi Pedro Ier de Castille, tels que celui d’Oidor de la Audiencia, de diplomate et de trésorier royal.
Il s’agit actuellement d’un musée d’État dépendant du ministère de la culture et des sports, rattaché à la direction générale des beaux-arts et géré par la sous-direction générale des musées d’État, dont la mission principale est de préserver et de transmettre l’héritage hispano-juif et sépharade en tant qu’élément fondamental de l’histoire de l’Espagne.
Le musée, tel que nous le connaissons aujourd’hui, a été créé en 1964 et déclaré « musée national d’art hispano-juif » en 1968. En 1969, la synagogue d’El Tránsito se dissocie des fondations Vega-Inclán, l’organisation qui la gérait depuis le début du XXe siècle, et entame sa trajectoire en tant que centre indépendant.
En 1971, le musée a ouvert ses portes au public et, depuis lors, il a fait l’objet de plusieurs améliorations, avec un plan de remodelage complet du bâtiment pour l’adapter aux besoins muséologiques actuels, ainsi qu’un nouveau projet muséologique et muséographique.

String Quintet: Quinteto 1909 (Spain)
The Quinteto 1909 is composed of Hugo González Carrera (guitar 1), Miguel Ángel Casero Jiménez (guitar 2), Miguel Revuelta Cazorla (guitar 3), Víctor Manuel Casero Jiménez (guitar 4) and Óscar López Rogado (double bass guitar).
Since its foundation, Quinteto 1909 has stood out for its desire to transform the language of chamber music for guitar, exploring new textures, timbral combinations, and repertoire rarely heard in this type of ensemble. Their aesthetic approach—balancing tradition and innovation—has positioned them as one of the most distinctive proposals in today’s classical guitar landscape.
In 2024, they released their debut album, Paradigma, a recording that brings together original works and arrangements specially adapted to their unique instrumentation. The album was awarded the Melómano de Oro, one of the most prestigious accolades in Spain’s classical music criticism. This recognition confirmed the group’s artistic excellence and established them as an emerging reference in chamber music with guitar.
The quintet has been invited to perform at renowned festivals and concert series. Its members, trained in top conservatories and experienced both as soloists and chamber musicians, approach each program with rigorous musicality and refined sensibility. Their interpretative versatility allows them to tackle a wide range of repertoire—from contemporary works to historical transcriptions—and their work has contributed significantly to enriching the catalog available for guitar ensembles.
Cuarteto de cuerda: Cuarteto Métamorphoses (Francia)
El Cuarteto Métamorphoses está formado por Mathilde Potier (violín), Pierre Liscia-Beaurenaut (violín), Jean-Baptiste Souchon-Graziani (viola) y Madeleine Douçot (violonchelo). Nace con la vocación de explorar y compartir la riqueza del repertorio para cuarteto de cuerda, inspirándose en las transformaciones descritas por Ovidio.
El cuarteto ha sido galardonado con el Premio ProQuartet en el concurso europeo FNAPEC y ha sido laureado en el Tremplin para jóvenes cuartetos de la Philharmonie de París. Además, ha recibido el reconocimiento de la Academia Ravel y las fundaciones de las abadías de Royaumont y Villefavard.
Se han formado en instituciones de referencia como el CNSM de París y la Universidad de Música de Viena, y han sido guiados por músicos y agrupaciones de prestigio como el Cuarteto Alban Berg, Cuarteto Ysaÿe, Cuarteto Ebène y Kronos Quartet. Actualmente son artistas en residencia en la Capilla Musical Reina Isabel (Bélgica), ProQuartet y la Fundación Singer-Polignac.
Han actuado en salas como Wigmore Hall, la Philharmonie de París o la Academia Franz Liszt de Budapest, y han participado en festivales como Prades, Quatuors à Bordeaux y Les Arcs. Su actividad artística se extiende también a la creación contemporánea y a proyectos de difusión social y educativa.

PRENSA
El 11 de noviembre a la 19:00 se organiza a través de la Asociación de guitarra clásica Ángel G. Piñero, un concierto de guitarra sola y guitarra y cuarteto de cuerdas en la sala Manuel de Falla de la SGAE. Es un concierto monográfico de parte de las obras de Piñero, que serán interpretadas por un concertista ucraniano premiado, Stalisnav Stetshenko y el cuarteto Chagall.
El programa incluye las obras Preludio Azul, El viento de la vida, Murmullo musical, Balada a una desconocida, Viaje Nocturno, Alegrías en el puerto, Canto a la serranía y Brisas de Cádiz.
