Ángel G. Piñero International Guitar Festival of Cádiz

Cádiz · Jerez de la Frontera · El Puerto de Santa María · Rota

The first edition of the Ángel G. Piñero International Guitar Festival of Cádiz will bring together, over three weeks, great performers, young talents, and artists from different backgrounds in a program of 13 concerts organized in 11 cultural and heritage venues in the province of Cádiz.

This festival was created to celebrate the Spanish guitar in all its forms and, at the same time, perpetuate the work and vision of Ángel G. Piñero, guitarist, composer, pedagogue, and researcher from Cádiz.

The programming will cover different styles and formats, ranging from classical guitar and chamber music to flamenco, singing, and multi-guitar ensembles.

The festival was created and produced by the European Guitar Foundation. The Ángel G. Piñero Classical Guitar Association participates as a sponsoring organization, while the Ateneo de Jerez and Zertior Sports & Entertainment are the organizing entities. The Festival benefits from the institutional collaboration of the city councils of Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, and Rota, as well as the University of Cádiz, not forgetting the support of various cultural and professional entities of the province.

All concerts will be free of charge until full capacity is reached, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Piñero International Competition, which brings together some of the performers awarded in the competition; the “Great Masters” cycle, honoring long-standing figures of classical and flamenco guitar; and “Five guitars and one heart: Ángel G. Piñero in memoriam,” a tribute to the legacy of the guitarist and composer by the Quintet 1909.
