On March 24, 2022, the Teatro Real was already the scenario of a great concert in tribute to the Spanish classical guitar and in memory of the figure of Ángel G. Piñero, who would have turned 90 that same day. Recognized in 2021 as the best Opera House in the World, the Teatro Real was crowded, and spectators enjoyed a concert full of emotion that featured the participation of the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra and renowned international artists from the world of Spanish classical guitar, dance and lyrical singing.
Since then, Ángel’s music has toured many of the best stages in Spain and the world, thus giving continuity to the work he began as one of the best ambassadors of Spanish classical guitar.
On June 7, 2024, we return to the Teatro Real. This time we do it to delight the public with a very special program, in which Ángel’s works will be united with those of another great Maestro, Manuel de Falla, also from Cádiz and considered one of the best Spanish composers.
To perform the works of these two great composers, we will have the participation of the young Paraguayan guitarist and soprano, Angélica Rodríguez, and the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra (Fundación Excelentia), which will again be conducted by José Antonio Montaño, one of the greats Spanish orchestra conductors of the moment.

THE TEATRO REAL, THE BEST STAGE
The Teatro Real is considered the first institution of performing and musical arts in Spain, positioning itself as a national reference opera house and one of the main Spanish cultural institutions. The institution also enjoys a significant international projection. In recent years they have received numerous recognitions, highlighting the International Opera Awards.
The artistic project of the Teatro Real has made it possible for the institution to position itself today as one of the great international centers of opera activity and a reference for Spanish cultural institutions. Its artistic programming seeks excellence, taking care of both the traditional and contemporary lyrical repertoire, which incorporates 20th century music and the latest avant-garde, with the firm conviction of offering the public a place to discover the best artists and creators of the moment. Likewise, it pays special attention to new audiences and also to the dissemination of opera among younger people.

THE ARTISTS
Guitarist: Angélica Rodríguez
Angélica is a young artist born in Encarnación (Paraguay) in 1994, who masters the art of the guitar and lyrical singing. He actively collaborates in the dissemination of Ángel's work and has participated in numerous concerts, performing his works at the Andalusian Festival of San Juan de Luz (France), in Madrid (Club Monteverdi and Carlos de Antwerp Foundation) and at the Théâtre Athénée Louis-Jouvet of Paris.
Trained in Paraguay and Italy, Angélica teaches Classical Guitar at the “Istituto Comprensivo T. Onorato” in Sferracavallo (Palermo).
In 2010 she received the title of Senior Professor of Classical Guitar at the Municipal Art Center of Encarnación, her hometown. In 2012 she obtained the title as Senior Professor in lyrical singing at the Amadeus Conservatory in her city.
In 2015 Angélica moved to Italy to perfect his studies in classical guitar and lyrical singing, graduating with the highest grade (110 e lode) and Honorable Mention in Classical Guitar at the “Guido Cantelli Conservatory” of Novara (Italy), obtaining the Laurea II Level Magistrale under the direction of Maestro Bruno Giufreddi in 2017.
In 2019 she graduated in lyrical singing, thus obtaining the Laura Magistrale II level, under the guidance of Maestro Berardino Di Domenico, at the same conservatory. To complete his training, in 2022/23 he completed the Master of Musical Performance with Maestro Aniello Desiderio at the “Accademia Stefano Strata” in Pisa.
Angélica has obtained prizes in important international competitions among which stand out, among others:
First prize in the "Lucas Braulo Areco International Contest" Argentina in 2012.
Special prize for best interpretation of the obligatory work in the "Andrés Segovia International Classical Guitar Competition" La Herradura (Spain) in 2013.
First prize in the "Concorso Internazionale di Chitarra Classica Rocco Peruggini" Italy in 2017.
First prize in the "VIII Angel G. Piñero International Guitar Competition" online edition (Spain) in 2021.
“Carrer project” prize at the “III Swiss international Music Competition” online edition, Lugano, in 2023.
She has offered recitals at important festivals, among others:
“Stagione Internazionale di Chitarra Classica” in the XI edition, organized by the Atelier Chitarristico Laudense in the city of Lodi, Italy in 2016; “Solo concert” for the commemoration of the national holidays of Paraguay at the National Library of Catalonia. Barcelona, Spain, in 2018; Classical guitar concert "Tribute to Women" at the Embassy of Paraguay in Rome, organized by the same embassy and the Paraguay-Italy Association in 2022.
The Orchestra: Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia (Fundación Excelentia)
The Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia is made up of professionals with extensive experience, who have played on the music stands of the most prestigious orchestras in Spain and Europe, which allows them to cultivate classical repertoires with the highest quality.
The Orchestra already collaborated in the great concert held at the Teatro Real on March 24, 2022, on the occasion of Ángel's 90th birthday, which marked a turning point in the diffusion of his work.

It has been conducted by important maestros such as Roberto Abbado, Julian Rachlin, Grzegorz Nowak, Michail Jurowski, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Thomas Sanderling, Alexander Polyanichko, among others.
Instrumental soloists of the stature of Krystian Zimerman, Nicola Benedetti, Vadim Gluzman, Vadim Repin, Julian Rachlin, Alexei Volodin, Gabriela Montero, Boris Andrianov, Vesko Eschkenazy, Renaud Capuçon, Maxim Rysanov, Radovan Vlatkovic, Leticia Moreno, Eric Le Sage, Clara Jumi Kang, among other great soloists of the international scene, have performed with the Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia.
The Orchestra regularly invites concertmasters from the best orchestras in the world, such as the Royal Contergebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam or the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
Performances on the best stages
The Orquesta Santa Cecila has performed in several venues such as the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Palacio de Euskalduna in Bilbao, the Palau de la Música in Valencia and the Auditori de Barcelona, among many other select venues.
It has also participated in important festivals, such as Santander and Pedraza, and has performed at the Zurich International Orchestra Festival Series at London’s Cadogan Hall.
Orchestra Conductor: José Antonio Montaño
The Madrilenian José Antonio Montaño is considered “among Spain´s orchestra conductors with the highest renown at the moment”, according to the specialized music press. José Antonio already conducted the Orchestra in the great concert held at the Teatro Real on March 24, 2022, on the occasion of Ángel's 90th birthday.
Trained by great masters such as Jesús López Cobos, Evelino Pidò, Pinchas Steinberg and Arturo Tamayo, he made name for himself in theaters and auditoriums of international prestige, performing all genres (opera, ballet, symphony and chamber music), and covering an extensive repertoire starting with his first baroque performance until utterly contemporary debuts.

He was chief conductor of the Orquesta Escuela de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid (2003-2013) and of the Orquesta de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2007-2009). In 2016 he founded the period-instrument orchestra La Madrileña, in which he has developed various recording, performance and musicological research projects in leading theatres, auditoriums and festivals with repertoires from the 18th century.

Recuerdo de juventud de postguerra con mi hermano y su apoyo para yo fuera músico. En esta obra se refleja entre sus notas, la vida de sacrificios por salir adelante en nuestra juventud.
Murmullo musical
Es un murmullo musical en tono Mayor y menor simulando un chorro continuado de notas.
El viento de la vida
Preludio dedicado a la vida, su empuje y fuerza.
Caprichos
Es una obra espontánea, juguetona, hay un juego entre la melodía y el cromatismo que le da un interés especial

Cuarteto Chagall
El cuarteto Chagall está formado por Cristina Pascual Godoy (violín), Sergio Gómez (violín), Abel Nafee Rosch (viola) e Irene Celestino (chelo).
El cuarteto ha ofrecido numerosos conciertos tanto en el ámbito nacional como internacional, destacando sus participaciones en los festivales «Clásicos en Verano» y »Arte Sacro» de la Comunidad de Madrid, en varios ciclos de conciertos en Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), en el ciclo’ «Las soirées de Riaza» (Segovia), ciclos MusaE apoyados por Acción Cultural Española y el MECD, Juventudes Musicales o el concierto ofrecido en el Teatro de la Zarzuela de Madrid en conmemoración del 115 Aniversario de la SGAE.
En el ámbito internacional cabe destacar la gira de conciertos como cuarteto invitado por el «Festival Junger Künstler Bayreuth» o su concierto en el Teatro Massimo Bellini de Catania, con gran éxito de crítica y público. Ha realizado igualmente conciertos en San Juan de Luz y Biarritz (Francia).

El 11 de noviembre a la 19:00 se organiza a través de la Asociación de guitarra clásica Ángel G. Piñero, un concierto de guitarra sola y guitarra y cuarteto de cuerdas en la sala Manuel de Falla de la SGAE. Es un concierto monográfico de parte de las obras de Piñero, que serán interpretadas por un concertista ucraniano premiado, Stalisnav Stetshenko y el cuarteto Chagall.
El programa incluye las obras Preludio Azul, El viento de la vida, Murmullo musical, Balada a una desconocida, Viaje Nocturno, Alegrías en el puerto, Canto a la serranía y Brisas de Cádiz.
